Quotes

In the late 1900s I studied Illustration at Wolverhampton university. By the end of my degree I started to focus my studies toward web technologies and their place in the design world. After university I moved to London to work for a small start up as a web designer, developer, general administrator, and receptionist. Fast forward a few years, and I worked as a freelancer for around 15 years developing my frontend development skills with technologies such as CSS, SCSS, JS and various JavaScript frameworks. During this time I worked on a number of well known websites which boosted my career, and if I'm honest, my confidence too. Over time I honed my skills with plenty of self tuition, support from training courses and colleagues. In my current role at PortSwigger I develop and maintain (with the help of Matt C) a simple and re-usable CSS framework for the content team and developers to use throughout the site.

What is your favorite thing about working at PortSwigger?

There are too many to list! If I had to choose, my personal favorite would be working with highly motivated like minded people.

What makes up the majority of a normal day for you at PortSwigger?

I spend most days working on the SCSS framework, building and expanding the component library, and performing general optimization of the SCSS.

If you could have lunch with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?

David Bowie. No explanation required!

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be and why?

Guybrush Threepwood, because he was a pirate from my favorite computer game. What's not to like!

What's the proudest achievement of your life?

Hardest question yet, probably any of my running achievements. Only because I was hospitalized a number of times as a child with asthma. So running at all is an achievement now. I'm not the fastest but I love the fact I pushed my asthma away over the years.
